Scholarships for Colombia: Mazda Foundation, Grants for the Arts or Science 2013

  1. Scholarships are awarded for postgraduate study in Colombia or abroad, in theoretical physics, pure mathematics and music.

Masters and Doctorates

  1. Charter scholarship application, addressed to the President of the Mazda Foundation for Art and Science.
  2. Updated resume student.
  3. Two letters of recommendation from professors with whom you have studied.
  4. Letter of admission from the institution where he is studying or which begin graduate studies and / or PhD.
  5. Ratings studies in the areas in which support is requested.

IMPORTANT: As of this call will not be awarded for Musical Undergraduate support, applications will only be accepted for postgraduate, masters and doctorates.


  1. All correspondence must be filed directly at the seat of the Mazda Foundation for Art and Science or mailed door to door.
  2. The full and timely shipment documentation does not guarantee the scholarship, which is subject to the decision of the Committee of the Foundation.
  3. Should be favored, the documentation is retained to support the granting of the scholarship.
  4. People that are not favored, shall request the return of the documents no later than fifteen (15) calendar days from the official date of delivery of the scholarships, otherwise the documents, material and exhibits will be destroyed without that may apply to any claim.

Extensions to scholarships:

The scholarships are renewed every six months. The extension of scholarship renewal application required by the grantee. Applications are studied in June and November of each year should therefore be filed in May and October.

Up to 6 awards in this highly prestigious and competitive program will be offered for the 2011-2012 academic year to students who show academic excellence, leadership potential and the ability to be cultural ambassadors for the U.S. in Colombia. Recent B.S./B.A. graduates, master’s and doctoral candidates conduct research and enroll in graduate level coursework in Colombian universities and institutions for a period of 10 months. Grantees plan their own programs of study and research projects, and arrange their own institutional affiliations within the Colombian universities and organizations.


All fields of study are eligible. However, security concerns may preclude projects considered especially sensitive or that could pose risks to the researcher. Applicants wishing to conduct research activities are also advised that certain rural areas of the country may be designated as restricted areas for security reasons

U.S. citizenship. Dual U.S.-Colombian citizens are ineligible.
Hold a B.S. or B.A. degree, or be currently enrolled in a master’s or Ph.D. program.
Proficient spoken and written Spanish.
Arrange own placement at an accredited Colombian university and research institute or organization.
