The China Programme, based on a Memorandum of 
Understanding (MoU) between China and the Netherlands, annually offers 
25 scholarships to Chinese candidates for study or research in the 
Netherlands.
            
        
Administration
The Dutch part of the programme is administered by Nuffic. The 
Chinese part is administered by the China Scholarship Council. Nuffic’s 
Chinese counterpart.
Excellence & Exchange
The scholarship programme is designed for good quality Chinese 
students who want to study or do research in the Netherlands for at 
least an academic year either during or after their studies in China. 
The main purpose of the China Programme is the exchange of talented 
Chinese and Dutch students (Excellence & Exchange).
The role of Nuffic
Nuffic administrates the Dutch part of the scholarship programme and 
is responsible for the final selection of the candidates who have been 
pre-selected by CSC.
The role of CSC
CSC is responsible for the Chinese part of the programme and the 
pre-selection of candidates. CSC refers to the programme as the 
“Bilateral Exchange Scholarship”.
